Free ringtone websites are not limited to the USA or any other continent for that matter. There are many websites that offer free ringtones and not necesserily illegal ringtones. We do not condone illegal downloads of ringtones.
We've noticed a demand for free Cingular ringtones lately and to satisfy that demand we're bringing you some great links for downloading your free Cingular ringtones. If you have a Cingular cellphone, the following chart will tell you which ringtones are compatible with your phone (please note this is for phones that are relatively new, say 0-2 years old).
AudioVox (SMT5600)
WAV, MP3 - I suggest using 30 second mp3 clips and WAP loading then to your phone.
Blackberry
ADP, Midi - You can get ADP truetones on your Blackberry. I've posted more info about this earlier. Also via WAP.
LG
ADP, Midi, DXM - ADP realtones are the way to go. DXM is a proprietory format more or less like midi. It probably gives access to vibration and lights if you have the right editing software.
Motorola
MP3, Midi, iMelody - Truetones, it's obvious that MP3 sounds the best, allthough Midi & iMelody tones play longer with smaller file size...
Nokia
AMR, MP3, Midi - MP3's play on newer phones, AMR's play on older phones, both truetones uploadable via WAP if you're subscribed to data services.
palmOne
MP3, Midi - I assume you can set MP3's as ringtones. Check with palm for details.
Samsung
MMF, MP3, Midi - Older phones play MMF truetones and newer phones D500 and up etc play MP3 as well.
Siemens
MP3, Midi, AAC - The new AAC format ( Apple Lossless Codec) is quite cool and smaller in file size. Most new siemens can support it, so check it out! I'll be adding AAC ringtones to my ringtone conversion page soon.
Sony-Ericson
Midi, .dm (DRM Packer Flash-Lite MP3's as ringtones!!!). This cute trick has been discovered over the past year to play MP3's as ringtones. I'll add some of them to my conversions page soon too. Only works on certain Sony-Ericson phones though and sometimes operator restrictions prevent you from doing this. (BAH!)
